Come one, come all and welcome to my humble abode. I invite you into the wacky and wonderful world of Media.
So, I'm Nick and I take Media at Gordano. The brief for the prelim was to create a film that had a selection of different shots in and had a conversation (between two people). My group consisted of myself, Sandra Davies and Charlie Lane. We decided we'd make a sort of humorous film with a slightly serious overtone (I have no clue what genre that is!), we decided on this because we thought I funny prelim would be more enjoyable to create. We used a mac, a video camera and a tripod. What little planning we did do consisted of a stick man story board (Thanks Charlie!!). We used the Languages department and the English Department, mainly Mr Dignan's Classroom (Cheers, Danny); filming took a double lesson, or to you non-gordano people 100 of your minutes. We, I say 'we', I mean Sandra, edited our film on iMovie, and a good job she did of it too. We didn't encounter many problems during filming, apart from corpsing, not being able to use the camera and people wanting to use the room we were filming it (who has Music in an English Classroom anyway!?). Editing took forever 'cause we had various different versions of the film, and luckily no unforseen changes were needed. The media skills I have acquired as part of my prelim are: How to create a digital storyboard (and how any Windows program is rubbish at this), how to successfully use a video camera, how to *shudder* use a mac and how to sort of use imovie. I think we have met the brief because we used all of the camera shots needed and we had a conversation. I enjoyed the filming the most because well it's just fun.
Anyway that just about wraps this Post (rant) up for today.
